AI search optimisation: be the answer ChatGPT and Gemini give
More and more customers ask an AI assistant instead of scrolling search results. If the answer does not mention you, you are not on the shortlist. We make sure AI models understand who you are, trust your content and cite it.
What AI search optimisation is
AI search optimisation, also called generative engine optimisation (GEO) or answer engine optimisation (AEO), is the work of making your brand visible inside AI-generated answers. When someone asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot or Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode for a recommendation, the assistant reads sources, decides who to trust and names a few brands. The goal is to be one of them.
It builds on SEO but is not the same thing. Search engines rank pages; AI assistants assemble answers from passages, facts and reputations gathered across the web. That changes what matters.
How AI assistants decide who to mention
AI models favour sources they can read easily and verify. That means content that answers questions directly in clear, self-contained passages; facts that are consistent everywhere your brand appears; structured data that states who you are, what you offer and where; and mentions on the independent sites the models already trust, such as reviews, directories, industry publications and news.
Access matters too. If your site blocks AI crawlers, hides content behind scripts, or loads too slowly to fetch, assistants that search the web in real time simply cannot use it.
What we do
We start with an AI visibility audit: we ask the leading assistants the questions your customers ask, record which brands they mention and which sources they cite, and compare you with your competitors. Then we fix what holds you back, in order of impact.
That work includes opening your site to AI crawlers, adding an llms.txt file and complete schema markup, rewriting key pages into answer-first sections and FAQs, making your brand facts consistent across your site, Google Business Profile and directories, and earning mentions on the third-party sources AI models rely on.
How we measure AI visibility
We track a fixed set of prompts across the major assistants every month and report your share of answers, the sources cited and how that compares with competitors. In GA4 we separate visits that arrive from ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and Copilot, so you can see AI referrals turn into enquiries.
No one can guarantee what an AI model will say. What we can do is make your brand the clearest, most trustworthy and most quotable answer available, and show you the trend every month.
AI search optimisation for Sri Lankan businesses
Few Sri Lankan companies have started optimising for AI answers yet, which makes this the moment to claim the ground. When a buyer in Colombo or abroad asks an assistant for the best supplier, hotel, school or service provider in Sri Lanka, we work to make sure your name is in the reply, with accurate details.

Questions we hear often
What is the difference between SEO and AI search optimisation?
SEO aims to rank your pages in search results. AI search optimisation aims to get your brand named and cited inside answers from AI assistants. They share foundations, such as technical health and useful content, and work best together.
Which AI assistants do you optimise for?
ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Google AI Overviews and AI Mode, Perplexity, Microsoft Copilot and Claude. We test the questions your customers ask on each of them.
Can you guarantee ChatGPT will recommend us?
No. AI answers vary and no one controls them. We improve the signals the models rely on and track your share of answers every month, so you can see progress.
How long does it take to appear in AI answers?
Assistants that search the web in real time, such as Perplexity and Google AI Overviews, can reflect changes within weeks. Changes in what a model knows from its training take longer, usually months.
Should we block AI crawlers to protect our content?
For most businesses that want to be found, no. Blocking crawlers removes you from AI answers. We help you decide which crawlers to allow and which content, if any, to keep private.
Do we need a new website for this?
Usually not. Most improvements are made to your existing site and your presence elsewhere on the web. If the site blocks crawlers or is very slow, we will tell you what needs to change.
